Care Tips for Your Crowning Glory

Rules to Follow for Healthy Hair

Don't wash your hair more than you have to. Washing the hair too often makes the hair dry and frizzy and brittle.

Do not use heat blow to dry your hair.

Weekly scalp treatments make a bigger difference in the long run.

Dry oils, which contain the lightest silicones and oils, create the most believable shine.

To Diet, Or Not?

Which are the most well received diets currently? How are these different, and how do the diets differ in their nutritional contents? Here is an overview of some.

The Mediterranean Diet

Proven to help with depression, in addition to controlling blood sugar levels and helping with weight loss, this is another kind of vegetable-heavy diet that avoids a lot of meat, but does not eliminate it altogether. It recommends the use of healthy oil (e.g. olive oil) as much as possible as an alternative to butter, salad dressings or marinades. It also emphasizes adding vegetables to each meal and favors fish over chicken. Whole grains, nuts and herbs are also used in larger amounts.

The mediterranean diet is truly one of the most ideal way of living, in my opinion, with the easy-to-follow list of food ingredients and recipes.

Ketogenic diet (Keto Diet)
One of the most popular diets, the ketogenic diet has more recently been adopted as a weight-loss diet. In this diet, fat is the main source of calories, followed by moderate protein and a very small amount of carbohydrates. Almost all bread, grains, and cereals, and even most fruits and starchy vegetables are off the keto list. The keto diet restricts carbs so much that your body has no choice but to turn to burning fat for fuel. But guess what, goodnews as there are now special recipes that allows one continue to enjoy their  favourite bread, sandwiches and pizzas.

The transition to ketosis usually takes weeks and can bring on some nasty side effects sometimes referred to as the “keto flu” including headache, fatigue, nausea, brain fog and difficulty sleeping. Maintaining a strict ketogenic diet is difficult and is best done with the guidance and weekly monitoring of a dietitian.

Top 3 Healthy Fats To Incorporate in Your Diet

Raw Food Diet

The diet eliminates the intake of any foods that have been pasteurized or produced with any kind of synthetics or additives. The diet is intended to create a surge in energy, a decrease in inflammation, while also lowering the number of carcinogens in one’s diet.

The Vegan Diet
This is a form of a vegetarian diet which eliminates meat and animal products. One of the primary effects of this diet is that it reduces the intake of cholesterol and saturated fat. If a vegan diet is rationed out properly, it can have many positive effects. Studies have proven that those who practice a vegan diet minimize their overall risk of coronary heart disease, obesity and high blood pressure. Vegans can incorporate more sources of protein and vitamin B-12 into their diets.

The Paleo Diet
This is a natural way of eating, one that almost abandons all intake of sugar. The only sugar in a Paleo diet comes from fruit. Processed foods and grains are eliminated from the Paleo diet. A Paleo diet consists of fish, fowl, vegetables, fruits, nuts, oils, sweet potatoes, eggs and meat, so long as that meat is grass-fed and not grain-fed.

Foods marketed as "healthy" - such as whole grains, soy and low-fat dairy - can contribute to the development of autoimmune conditions. Discover what you can eat to calm your immune system, reduce inflammation and help your body heal itself. The Paleo Approach is the first book ever to explain how to adapt the Paleo diet and lifestyle to bring about a full recovery.

The South Beach Diet

This diet was first introduced in 2003. It does not eliminate carbohydrates altogether, but aims to educate dieters on which carbs to always avoid. This can encourage a healthy way of eating so that it will be sustainable for the rest of people’s lives. The diet includes a selection of healthy fats, lean protein, as well as good carbs.

Giving up our favourite foods is challenging, and takes a lot of determination and discipline. More over, one has to research more extensively and consult a qualified professional in order to make an informed decision before taking on a particular diet.
